Code of Ethics

Last updated: March 2026  ·  Effective: January 2021

InternationalMoneyTransfer.com is committed to operating with the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and fairness. This Code of Ethics sets out the principles that govern our editorial decisions, commercial relationships, and the way we treat the people who use our platform.

1. Editorial Independence

Our editorial team operates independently of our commercial team. Providers, partners, and advertisers do not have any influence over our reviews, ratings, rankings, or editorial content. No payment, gift, or commercial relationship can secure a positive review, a higher star rating, or preferential placement in our comparison tables.

Rankings in our comparison tools are determined by objective criteria — including exchange rate competitiveness, transfer fees, speed, customer service scores, and regulatory standing — not by commercial arrangements. Any provider appearing in a sponsored position is clearly labelled as such.

Our editorial team has the right to publish accurate, negative, or unfavourable findings about any provider, including commercial partners, without interference. We will never suppress, soften, or remove honest content due to commercial pressure.

2. Transparency & Disclosure

We are transparent about how we make money. InternationalMoneyTransfer.com earns revenue through referral fees and affiliate commissions when a user clicks through to a provider and completes a transfer or opens an account. This commission model does not affect the objectivity of our content.

Every page that includes affiliate links is clearly identified. Where we have a commercial relationship with a provider, this is disclosed. Sponsored content and paid placements are always labelled clearly, distinguishing them from independent editorial content.

We disclose the methodology behind our star ratings, comparison criteria, and rankings on our methodology pages. Users can understand exactly how we evaluate providers and make their own informed decisions.

We update our disclosures whenever our commercial relationships change. If a provider we previously recommended is no longer a commercial partner, our editorial assessment remains in place and is not affected.

3. Accuracy & Fairness

We are committed to publishing accurate, up-to-date, and balanced information. Our team regularly reviews and updates content to reflect changes in rates, fees, regulations, and provider offerings. Where data is time-sensitive (such as exchange rates), we clearly indicate when it was last checked.

We apply consistent evaluation standards to all providers. No provider is held to a different standard than another. If we make an error, we correct it promptly, transparently, and without delay, noting the correction on the relevant page.

Our guides, articles, and comparison data are fact-checked before publication. Where we express an opinion or make a recommendation, it is clearly identified as such and supported by evidence. We do not make predictions presented as facts, and we do not exaggerate the benefits of any product or service.

4. Our Responsibilities

To our users: We provide independent, impartial information to help people make better financial decisions. We do not act as a financial adviser. Our content is for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as personal financial advice.

To providers: We treat all providers fairly, applying consistent methodology and giving providers the opportunity to respond to factual errors before publication where possible.

To regulators: We comply with applicable laws and regulations in every jurisdiction we operate in, including UK FCA guidelines on financial promotions and GDPR data protection obligations.

To our team: We maintain a workplace culture of honesty, respect, and professionalism. Team members are encouraged to raise concerns about editorial integrity without fear of retaliation.

5. Privacy & Data Ethics

We collect only the data we need to provide our service. We do not sell personal data to third parties for marketing purposes. Data shared with providers is done so only with the user's explicit consent as part of the quote or referral process.

We are transparent about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is used. Our full Privacy Policy is available at internationalmoneytransfer.com/privacy.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect user data against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure. We report any data breaches in accordance with applicable law.

6. User Wellbeing

We are conscious that currency transfer services are used for important life events — buying property abroad, supporting family, starting a business, or emigrating. We take the responsibility of providing accurate information seriously.

We do not use dark patterns, misleading urgency, or manipulative design to pressure users into clicking through to providers. Our comparison tools present information neutrally so users can make genuinely informed decisions.

We only promote providers that are authorised and regulated by recognised financial authorities. We do not knowingly promote unlicensed, fraudulent, or predatory financial services. If we become aware that a listed provider has been sanctioned or is under investigation, we review their listing immediately.

If a user contacts us with a complaint about a provider, we take it seriously and, where appropriate, refer them to the relevant regulatory body (eg the FCA, ASIC, or FinCEN).

7. Anti-Bribery & Conflicts of Interest

We comply fully with the UK Bribery Act 2010 and equivalent legislation in other jurisdictions. No employee, contractor, or representative of InternationalMoneyTransfer.com may offer, give, request, or accept a bribe in any form.

Team members must declare any potential conflicts of interest — including personal financial holdings, employment, or close relationships with providers we review — to senior management before writing about or reviewing that provider. Where a conflict exists, the team member will be recused from that coverage.

Gifts and hospitality from providers are only acceptable where they are modest, transparent, and could not reasonably be considered to influence editorial decisions. Significant gifts must be declared and approved by management.

8. Reporting Concerns

We encourage anyone — including employees, contractors, users, and providers — to report breaches of this Code of Ethics or any concerns about our practices. Reports can be made confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

Reports can be submitted via our contact page or by emailing ethics@internationalmoneytransfer.com. All reports are reviewed by senior management and treated with strict confidentiality.

Where a breach is confirmed, we will take appropriate corrective action, which may include editorial corrections, removal of content, termination of commercial relationships, or referral to the relevant authorities.

This Code of Ethics was approved by the senior leadership of InternationalMoneyTransfer.com and is reviewed annually. It was last updated in March 2026.
