Our Commitment to Accessibility

InternationalMoneyTransfer.com is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or browsing environment. We believe that access to clear, unbiased financial comparison information is a right, not a privilege, and that means making our content available to everyone.

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA — the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, cognitive, and neurological conditions.

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time project. We regularly audit our site, incorporate user feedback, and update our practices as standards evolve. If you encounter any barriers, we want to hear from you.

Partially Conformant

Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to resolve known issues — see the Known Issues section below for details.

Technical Approach

Our site is built with Next.js and React using semantic HTML5 elements throughout. We use Tailwind CSS with design tokens that meet colour contrast requirements. All new features undergo accessibility review before release.

Accessibility Features

The features and measures we have implemented across our website.

Visual Accessibility

  • Minimum 4.5:1 colour contrast ratio for all body text (WCAG AA)
  • Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • All images include descriptive alt text
  • No content relies on colour alone to convey meaning
  • Charts and data visualisations include text-based alternatives
  • Focus indicators are clearly visible on all interactive elements

Keyboard & Navigation

  • All functionality is accessible via keyboard alone
  • Logical tab order throughout all pages
  • Skip navigation links allow users to jump directly to main content
  • No keyboard traps — users can always navigate away from any component
  • Dropdown menus and interactive widgets are fully keyboard operable
  • Focus is managed appropriately on dynamic content updates

Screen Reader Support

  • Semantic HTML used throughout for correct structure and meaning
  • ARIA labels and roles applied to all interactive components
  • Form fields have associated labels
  • Error messages are programmatically linked to the relevant fields
  • Live regions used for dynamic content updates
  • Table headers marked up correctly with <th> and scope attributes

Mobile & Responsive

  • Fully responsive design across all screen sizes
  • Touch targets meet minimum 44×44px requirement
  • Content reflows at 320px width without horizontal scrolling
  • Pinch-to-zoom is not blocked
  • Works with iOS VoiceOver and Android TalkBack
  • Orientation is not restricted — works in portrait and landscape

Content & Readability

  • Plain English used throughout — average reading age of 12 years
  • Consistent navigation and page layout across all pages
  • Page titles are descriptive and unique
  • Headings follow a logical hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3)
  • Links have descriptive text — no 'click here' or 'read more' alone
  • Language of the page is programmatically identified

Motion & Interaction

  • No content flashes more than 3 times per second
  • Animations respect the user's 'prefers-reduced-motion' setting
  • No auto-playing audio or video with sound
  • Session timeouts include a warning with the ability to extend
  • Error prevention on forms — users can review before submitting
  • Time limits are adjustable where they exist

Known Accessibility Issues

We believe in transparency about where we fall short. Below are known issues we are actively working to resolve, along with current workarounds.

Interactive Charts

High Priority

Some data visualisations (Recharts) do not yet have full keyboard operability

Workaround: All chart data is available in accompanying tables

PDF Documents

Medium Priority

Older downloadable guides may not be fully tagged for screen readers

Workaround: Contact us to request an accessible version

Third-party Widgets

Medium Priority

Some embedded third-party comparison tools may not meet WCAG AA

Workaround: Use our native comparison tables as an alternative

Currency Converter

Low Priority

Live rate update announcements may be verbose on some screen readers

Workaround: Rate data is also shown in a static table below the converter
